anyone actually get banned from casinos for card counting?

I keep seeing stories online about folks getting thrown out for card counting, but I wonder how much is actually real and how much is just flexing. I know it's legal if you're just using your brain and not some device, but how strict are places really? Like, are they actually monitoring everyone that closely, or is it just a threat to keep casuals in line?

Been playing low stakes mostly and haven't seen anyone marched out. I stay disciplined, mix up my bets, and don't go on crazy heaters that draw eyes. Maybe that's the secret. I do like the promos and sometimes I feel like those catch more attention than the actual play.

Has anyone here ever actually gotten the boot, or at least had security tap you on the shoulder? Or is the whole casino blacklist thing just way overblown unless you're going hard at high stakes?

one angle people skip is psychology. most regulars at my spot get jittery long before they’re actually watched, and it messes up their decisions. paranoia can cost you more than the pit boss ever will.

It’s mostly heat at higher stakes or when your spread gets wild, not just low-limit grinders like us. The real tension is promos, honestly - hunting bonuses puts you under the microscope way faster than tight blackjack play. Never seen anyone get booted for a steady, disciplined count at one or two tables in my area, but team play or clumsy bet jumps and you’ll get a warning pretty quick

Promos can flag you faster than counting if you go after loss leader deals too aggressively.

At low stakes, most casinos just do not care unless you start wiping out entire shoes with big spread bets or attract heat from odd behaviors. I’ve only seen someone asked to “take a break” once, and they were pretty blatant with their counts and sizing. For disciplined folks grinding regular blackjack, it is mostly just a threat to keep people honest. High rollers or team play get noticed quick, though. The bigger the action, the closer the watch.
