Would you split 10s if you were feeling lucky?

so a couple nights ago, sitting at the table, i had a pair of 10s and just couldn’t get it out of my head that i was on a lucky run. the dealer was showing a 6, whole table was rooting for each other and someone said “split ‘em!” you know how that vibe gets contagious, like everyone’s riding the same wave. all the stuff about basic strategy sort of drifted to the background for a sec, and i really had that itch to just see if it would pay off.

i didn’t do it, but it’s been on my mind since. i get the rules, and honestly most of the time i stick to them, but something about those streaky nights makes the discipline wobble. maybe that’s when the house wins back the most, i guess. anyway, i wanna hear how others handle those moments. is there a point where you let the table energy sway you, or do you always grind out the same habits no matter what?

Dealer 6 is the part that got me, people act like it's a permission slip, and that's expensive tuition yesss

"yesss" after tuition made it sound like a guy at third base teaching a paid class out of the shoe.

I don’t let “lucky” make that call because that’s exactly when my brain starts spending money it hasn’t won yet. Pair of 10s is where i get stubborn. If i want to do something reckless, i’d rather do it on a garbage 12 than tear up a made hand just because the table got festive for ten seconds. I’ve watched people hit one cute split and act ordained by heaven, which, good for them i guess. Still annoys me.

Dealer 6 is the bit i noticed... Classic blackjack hand where everybody gets brave for no reason and starts chirping from the rail...

Maybe once in a blue moon, but nah, not vs a 6. In Blackjack I keep the 20 and let the table huff about it tbh 😅
