were you expecting a third card every hand? it only comes out in certain situations, so plenty of hands end after the first two. were you watching for that third card and not seeing when the rules called for one?
You reached the end

The third card is drawn by fixed rules, nobody chooses, so a lot of hands really do end on two cards.
If either side has 8 or 9 on the first two cards (a natural), both stand and the hand is over. Otherwise Player draws on 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7. If Player stands, Banker uses the same rule: draw on 0 to 5, stand on 6 or 7. If Player did draw, Banker's move depends on its own total and Player's third card: Banker always draws on 0 to 2, stands on 7, and on 3 to 6 it draws only for certain Player third cards (for example, on 6 it draws only when Player's third card is a 6 or 7).
So with naturals and 6s and 7s coming up often, plenty of shoes look like two cards each, winner, next hand. Since there are no decisions after the bet, the only real choice is Banker, Player or Tie: Banker wins slightly more often, which is why it carries a commission (usually 5%), and Tie has by far the worst edge.
Why stand on 7, damn
