Casino cashback vs deposit bonuses

Been looking at the offers on a couple sites and the cashback one sounds better to me than the deposit bonus.

With the deposit bonus, every time I read it, it looks like you get extra money but then you cant touch much of anything till youve played through a load of it. Thats the part that puts me off. I had one saying 100% on £50 and then the playthrough was high as fuck.

Cashback sounds more straight up in my head. Like if I deposit £50 and lose it, getting 10% back at least gives me £5 back and thats real money, not bonus money thats tied up again... unless im reading it wrong.

Can someone explain if cashback is usually better than a deposit bonus for normal play on slots and blackjack? I only mean from the player side, not what looks bigger on the promo page.

The bit im not sure on is whether cashback has the same annoying rules hidden in it. I saw one that said weekly cashback (on net losses) and then had extra lines under it, and I couldnt tell if that meant you still have to wager that too before you can withdraw.

Im not trying to do anything clever with it, just dont want to chuck in £50 and then find out the bonus is basically useless. Deposit bonuses always sound good first and then the rules kill it for me.

If cashback is simpler ill take the smaller amount every time, but maybe im missing something obvious here, cheers

Check whether it’s credited as cash or bonus funds first. If you can withdraw it, cashback sounds better for ordinary play, but “weekly” and “net losses” don’t tell you if the credit has wagering on it too, so read those extra terms before depositing.

That £5 is the only part of it that's yours.

Cashback pays real money, deposit bonus is play money til you grind it out, and blackjack barely counts anyway
