anyone notice slots hit bonuses more when you increase your bet

so here’s something i keep seeing and i can’t tell if it’s just in my head or not. when i’ve been playing on minimum bets, it feels like bonuses are rare, just dead spin city. but if i start getting bored and bump the bet up, suddenly i’ll hit a bonus round or feature way sooner than before. not every time obviously, but enough i started paying attention. and then when i go back to low stakes it dries up again.
