low volatility slots still eating balance faster than high volatility somehow

noticed lately that the “low volatility” slots keep grinding my balance away, way faster than some of the high vol ones. i’m not even talking about bonus hunting or anything wild, just straight base game spins. they’re supposed to give back small wins more frequently, but honestly, it feels like i get a bunch of tiny hits that don’t even cover the bet, and my bankroll just kind of drips away. meanwhile, i’ve had high vol runs where i at least last longer, or hit a streak that gets me back on track, even if it’s swingy.
