first half rules?

Trying to figure out how first half bets are actually settled, especially in live betting. So if you’ve got a wager on the first half moneyline or spread, what happens when the game gets suspended before halftime? Is it just a straight refund every time, or does it depend on the sportsbook’s own rules? It seems like some count the bet if a certain amount of time’s played, but I can’t find anything consistent.

Also, do most places offer first half options for all sports, or just the main ones like football and basketball? Been sticking to soccer and noticed some books don’t even bother with halves unless it’s a big league. Curious what everyone’s experience has been.

My dumb rule now is if i can’t find the grading line in 20 seconds, i don’t bet that market. Learned that after a suspended soccer first half sat in limbo for two days. I assumed there’d be a clean cutoff, like blackjack. Wrong.

Not always, imo pregame 1H asian handicap hangs around in a lot of lower league soccer, it's the live menu they gut first. Seen that way more than a full cut 🙂

What gets me is live first half stuff is usually the first thing to vanish when a match gets weird. Soccer esp, smaller leagues, they’ll freeze live odds, pull the market, then some poor trading guy grades it later. I’ve had first half bets sit “open” for hours while Live Dealer blackjack gets settled instantly, which yeah, still annoys me tbh 😒

The blunt truth is first-half bets are house-rule land, not some universal thing, and that’s why I treat them like slots payouts: if the rules page is fuzzy, I’m out. Smaller soccer especially gets half markets pulled or skipped because books do noooot want settlement arguments.
