Why are NBA player props so addictive?

Started with just sides and totals but these player props really pull me in. It's weird, I'll research two games for hours, barely make a pick, then I'll scroll through points or rebounds props and suddenly feel like I cracked some code just seeing a number that looks off. Might be tricking myself but it feels like there's always an edge if you know which bench guy is getting minutes. Then again, half the time I think I outsmarted the book, and the guy I picked sits out with three fouls by halftime.

I like picking my spots and going under the radar, but with player props it feels like there's an endless menu and it's easy to lose track of the big picture, bankroll-wise. Curious if anyone has actually stuck with a slow, patient approach and seen real long-term value, or if it always just turns into chasing the next "lock."

yeah, props can feel addictive because there’s always another number to analyze, which makes chasing easier. a slow approach with fixed stakes and tracking actual results over time is a lot more useful than treating every “lock” like an edge.
