anyone actually counting cards at online blackjack or is that impossible

I see a lot of talk in the forums about counting cards online, but I’m struggling to see how it’s possible with these automatic shuffles and continuous shoe machines. Maybe there’s a slim chance if you’re in a live dealer game and you track when the shoe changes, but even then I’m not sure how reliable it is since they can shuffle mid-shoe or swap decks on a whim.

Has anyone here actually tried keeping a count with some level of success online, or is this all just wishful thinking?

even if you spot a table using real cards, the volatility from inconsistent shuffle points muddies the math almost instantly. bankroll swings can double if you overcommit to one count that gets wiped by a premature shuffle.

review-wise, the only time i’ve seen anyone reliably inch ahead online was at obscure variants like pontoon, but that advantage dried up once operator reviews rolled out feedback on card tracking. for me, i’d sooner trust disciplined session length over shoe composition at this point.

Props for stressing discipline. Ever try basic strategy on Atlantic City blackjack just for variance?

If you lean on strict risk management - never raising bets just on feel - your session variance should settle even if the shuffle nukes any count. I track RTP shifts on free bet blackjack tables as a sanity check for long-term play.

I tracked for hours on a live table and still felt more in control spinning slots with auto play on. Maybe the trick is treating blackjack online like slots and leaning into the randomness instead of chasing an edge.

Card counting online’s a mirage, since live dealer shuffles and infinite blackjack kill the process edge. Anyone spotted a table with real deck depletion that sticks for more than ten hands?

I tried tracking counts at crypto casinos and found my bigger leak was tilt, not edge loss from shuffles. If you want an immediate test, focus on your reaction after a big loss and see if chasing it feels more predictable than any card flow.
