why do some casinos bonus you for losing big

Noticed this lately, I took a pretty big loss on a bad streak last month and out of nowhere got a reload bonus email. It almost felt like they’re rewarding the loss, which made me think twice. I mean, it's not like a "congrats you lost" but more like "stick around, here's another shot." Guess it's their way of trying to keep folks from rage quitting for good.

It messes with my head a little, though. Chasing losses is always a danger zone, and those types of promos are basically dangling a carrot at the exact wrong time. I get why casinos do it, but I wonder if it actually works out for them in the long run, or if people just end up deeper in the hole. Wondering how others deal with this - ignore the offer, use it with a cool head, or just walk away for a bit?

Yeah lol that's retention, not kindness. Loss bonus hits way different than a signup bonus, lmao
