Crypto casino seed phrases: why do sites ask you to verify these.

Just noticed more crypto casinos have started asking players to verify their seed phrases or even type them out before a withdrawal. Kinda threw me off because with sports betting and poker sites I’ve never been asked anything like that, just the basic login and sometimes 2FA. I get the idea is to make sure no one else is messing with your account, but isn’t that risky too if something’s phishing or their system gets compromised

Anyone else run into this lately, or know if there’s a safer workaround? I’m all for discipline but this feels like it could backfire if you’re not careful

If roulette asked for my seed phrase I'd laugh and cash out. Optionality's one thing, handing over the keys is just bleak.

the bit that gets me isnt even the ask, its that it tells you their cashier and fraud setup are stitched together with string. if a site can’t do device binding, signed wallet auth, or even basic 2fa right, what are they doing with your data. had one live dealer crypto shop send me 4 different withdrawal emails in 36 hours, all with different wording. thats not security, thats a shop in a panic.

Nah, the thing people miss is slots don’t need wallet custody drama at all, they just need a payout rail. I’ve had a crypto slot joint ask for a signed message once, which is annoying enough. Asking for recovery stuff is sooo far past “security” it sounds like they built the cashier out of coat hangers and hope
