Lightning roulette legit?

so yeah, the game itself looks cool, i get why people are into it. it’s flashy, you get the extra multipliers, and the live dealer piece feels like vegas from your couch. i can see how it feels more exciting than classic roulette, especially for folks chasing big hits on straight numbers.

but, my big thing is the way they tweak the payouts when lightning numbers show up. sure, the multipliers are big, but if you don’t hit one, the regular payout drops way below standard. is that really better or is it just shiny distraction? i know randomness is baked in, but i keep looking at the actual odds and the house edge seems higher than people expect. i’m probably overthinking it, but has anyone really come out ahead playing this version consistently, or is it just entertainment tax?

Sure, the hit looks sick when a lightning number lands, I get why people chase it. But it feels like slots dressed up as roulette to me: they trim the normal payout, juice the highlight reel, and everyone remembers the 500x guy instead of the ten dead spins. Annoyingly effective.
