why do poker training sites charge so much for obvious strategies.

Some of these poker training sites want a serious chunk of change for what honestly feels like common sense. I’m watching video walkthroughs where the advice is just stuff like “don’t limp UTG” or “value bet your top pair” and I’m sitting here wondering who’s actually paying for this. Not saying I never learn anything, but it’s like wading through hours of basic stuff I’ve seen in free YouTube clips.

Makes me wonder if the real edge is just having the discipline to actually apply these “obvious” strategies, or if I’m missing some secret sauce in there somewhere. I get that advanced content takes effort to make, but even the so-called advanced videos get pretty generic after a while. Are these sites actually worth it for anyone here, or is it just for people who need the basics drilled in?

biggest value from poker training sites isn’t the info, it’s structure and accountability. most regs already know not to limp UTG. it’s like grinding slot machines at crypto casinos - you need discipline more than secret sauce. for raw strat depth, solvers or real hand reviews push further than paid videos.

Feels like you mostly pay for branding and FOMO, not substance. Anyone here stick around just for the community or tools?

when you’ve spent years reading sportsbook reviews and tracking actual results, it’s a lot like poker sites charging for the basics. most folks don’t realize just how much real edge comes from managing swings and bankroll, not some magic tip. back when i first tried crypto casinos, i saw the same, loads of hype, not much new under the hood, but folks still bite for the comfort of guidance. if you already know the ropes, you’re just paying for a padded room to keep your nerves steady.
