table broke mid hand

so this was a new one for me. six-handed home game, middle of the hand, table leg just snaps and the whole setup dumps chips and cards everywhere. action froze, obviously. most stacks were easy to count since chips ended up clumped, but the hand itself - like who had folded, whose turn it was, how much was in the pot - total mess. some players wanted to just void the hand, one guy tried to claim he folded a straight preflop obvious lie, but whatever, others thought we could reconstruct it. i honestly thought keeping decision integrity matters, but with that much chaos, hard to do it clean.

how do others handle that mid-hand chaos? feels like there's not really a right or wrong, but keeping the whole group chill seems more important than the technical detail of who was ahead in one weird hand.
