anyone actually making money at online poker or is it all just streamers

Watching poker streams you’d think every second person is running it up from fifty bucks to a new car, but when I actually tried grinding a bit, it felt like I was throwing chips into a black hole. Maybe I’m more used to the instant feedback you get from slots or live dealer tables. I know slots are mostly for fun, but at least when you win it’s quick and obvious. Poker just seems like a slow bleed unless you really know your stuff.

I see some people claim they can read patterns or have a disciplined strategy, but it’s wild to me how much time it takes. I’ve got some patience I don’t even mind reading instructions on snack packages if it gives me a better result but with poker it just feels like the regulars chew up new players. Are there folks here who actually treat it like an income and not just entertainment? Or is it mostly just streamers showing the highlight reels?

i’ll call it straight, most profit stories are highlight reels and grinding online poker for consistent income is a rare skill, not the norm. take bitstarz as an example, sure they offer decent rakeback, but without serious discipline regulars will just eat your lunch.
