Anyone here actually profitable long term with blackjack online?

So I’ve been grinding live dealer blackjack online for a while, treating it kinda like a side hustle between poker sessions. I stick to basic strategy and keep my bet sizes disciplined, but honestly, I haven’t managed to show real profit if I look at the last six months. I’m curious if anyone else here has cracked the code or found a sustainable edge beyond just hot streaks. With the shuffle machines and no way to count like in a brick-and-mortar, it just feels like the odds eat away whatever progress I make.

Sometimes I hear about folks getting in with promos or using weird side bets, but every time I look at the numbers, it seems like long-term profit is smoke and mirrors unless you’re playing in specific situations. Not looking for pie-in-the-sky stories about massive runs, just wondering if it’s even possible to get ahead or if I’m better off putting all that effort back into poker where I at least know my edge is real. Wondering how others here approach it, especially those who go hard at online tables.

Putting in all that mental energy for blackjack online, I ended up more frustrated than up, to be honest. My one practical change was shifting strict attention to session goals instead of chasing streaks, because chasing “just one more shoe” buried me a few times.

On the sports betting side, at least I feel like line shopping or capitalizing on sudden player news gives me a fighting chance, while live dealer blackjack just feels like water wearing down a rock. It’s legit tough to feel like you’re playing the game, not just feeding the system.

Totally get it - studio casino blackjack feels like running on a treadmill, no matter how sharp your play is. If you want to switch it up, try classic slots for quick-hit dopamine without the same illusion of control, and at least you can pace your spend.

slot dopamine has bite, but chasing tiny wins on repetitive reels spins out fast. i’ve watched more bankrolls disappear to classic slots than i care to admit, usually right after a tough blackjack stretch when ego’s scrambling for a comeback.

for actual upside, pivoting toward sports betting lets you work with fresh data each day. if you want a casino rec anyway, i’d say bitstarz and book of dead - they’re both solid for payout speed and occasional bonus play, but nothing will compensate for leaks in discipline.

I hear you on that dopamine hit, but after a cold run in blackjack, I see my bankroll more like a set of options to redeploy, not just fuel for more spins. If slots get stale fast, ever dig into roulette streak analysis for a quick mental reset?

What finally snapped me out of the grind was running the numbers on Perfect Pairs side bets. I tracked a few hundred hands on LeoVegas Live Dealer, and every time, even with wild variance, those bets ate my bankroll at double the rate of main hands.

If you're in it for profit, my takeaway is skip the side bets entirely and keep a session cap, not just per-shoe goals. Or if you want a different mental palette cleanser, bet re-open in live roulette gives just enough time to change course, but tread carefully.

With online blackjack, promos might extend your play but the house edge grinds steady. Have you checked out roulette with a stat tracker for trends when blackjack stalls?

felt this with roulette too, effort’s real but if the rules box you in tight, better to move your chips elsewhere

profit long term is a stretch online unless you’re leveraging heavy promos or finding weak deck penetration. have you found any live blackjack game where counting even seems worth the trouble?
