Roulette table minimums: why do they suddenly increase during peak hours.
noticed the table minimum at my usual spot jumps from $10 to $25 once the place gets crowded, usually right after 8pm. i’m not really there to chase the high bets or the high rollers, just stick to slow grind with some of the promos and chip backs. i get that they want to maximize every seat when it’s busy, but it kind of kills any strategy built around sustainability and grinding comps. when the minimum is higher, i burn through my bankroll way faster, and those bonus spins or points get a lot less efficient.
is this always just a policy thing or do casinos try to nudge casual folks away during the busier times so they can keep higher action? maybe i’m missing some angle where this is good for someone, but it just seems like regulars and low-rollers get pushed out when it should be the opposite if they want sustainable action. interested what other grinders think or if you work in the back, any insight.
the table min spike is classic crowd control, nothing sneaky about it, but yeah, it hurts the slow-burn comp earners most. online casinos don’t pull this move - your $1 chip goes just as far at midnight as midday. patience pays, but brick-and-mortar spots tax the grinders during rush.
