Neighbour bet limit?
Got a neighbour at my local roulette table who always seems to push right up to the max bet limit, sometimes even dividing chips to cover five or more numbers around his main pick. I always thought there was a limit for each single number, but the dealer just shrugs and lets him stack up if the overall doesn’t cross the table max. It messes with my head because when I try to cover a spread, I get nervous I’ll get called out for stacking too much on neighbouring numbers.
Never seen anyone get stopped unless they’re obviously drunk or stacking chips after the no-more-bets call, but I also don't want to be that guy who argues with a dealer about rules I don’t fully know. Is there a specific neighbour bet limit that everyone just ignores, or is it always just within table max as long as each single bet’s legal? Curious if this is the same everywhere or just my place doing things loose. Anyone else run into this?
