red streak bait

so how many of you actually play the red streak on roulette? my buddy swears every time the board pops 6+ reds in a row he piles on red like it’s free cash. i swear the only time he ever does it, it snaps back to black. dude calls it a “red bait” and says it’s a casino trick, but he’s also the type to eat pineapple on pizza so his judgment is suspect.

anyway, i’m mostly a blackjack grinder slow and boring wins the race, yeah?, but i do hop on roulette when i see a live dealer running some crazy streaks. feels like every time i try chasing, the table slaps my hand. does anyone here have actual numbers or personal rituals for jumping in or bailing on a color streak? is “red bait” just an excuse for getting burned or is there something to it?
