why do some slots have feature triggers that feel completely unfair?

sometimes it feels like the bonus rounds or features on certain slots just refuse to show up no matter how sensible your bankroll management is. i always pick slots with a decent rtp and make sure i’m playing within my means, but every so often i’ll go through 300 spins without a sniff at a feature. it really messes with your sense of what’s fair, especially if you’re used to games with transparent odds like live dealer roulette where you at least see the wheel and feel in control.
