does anyone actually track personal slot statistics long term

i'm starting to wonder if keeping a slot diary is worth the hassle. in poker it’s obvious - you track every session, analyze your play, see where you’re leaking. slots feel more like pure rng, so i’ve never bothered logging every dollar in and out over months, but maybe i’m missing something? do people really keep up with detailed stats on win/loss, machine types, even things like time of day or session length? if you do, has it changed how you play or are the patterns just as random as expected? just curious if tracking ever leads to any real insight or strategy or if it’s just for curiosity. anyone here actually do it?

Yeah I did it for about 4 months, mostly on crypto casinos cause deposits are too damn easy and I got tired of lying to myself. Not every spin, I’m not an accountant, just game, coin value, session length, in/out. It didn’t uncover some magic time-of-day crap, it showed one ugly thing real clear: when I bumped coin value after a hit, I bled fast as hell. Same slot theme, same me, same bad habit. That part helped. The rest was just a spreadsheet proving RNG doesn’t care, which I already knew, annoyingly enough
