free spins cap?

Noticed lately that a lot of these free spin offers are capped at like 20 bucks, no matter what the screen says you won. It's always in the fine print, so you think you hit a small jackpot with the spins, but then you go to cash out and they hit you with the cap. Happens more on some of the newer games or promos, but honestly I can’t see why the cap needs to be so low when they're already making you roll it over ten times or more.

Feels like you have to have the discipline to just treat free spins as entertainment and not real profit potential, but part of me still gets annoyed seeing a big number flash across the screen only to end up with peanuts. Do you guys just ignore free spins now, or is there some angle I'm missing to actually get something out of them?
