why do some sportsbooks offer way better baseball odds than basketball.

I’ve noticed the same thing, especially during the baseball regular season when the odds seem way more generous compared to NBA games. It feels like they’re practically begging for baseball action some days, but when you look at hoops, it’s tighter across the board. I wonder if it’s just down to volume of bets or maybe the books are more confident setting basketball lines because there’s less fluke-y stuff compared to baseball.

Makes it tempting to over-focus on MLB, but it’s gotta be a trap if you’re not careful. I try not to chase the better looking prices just for the sake of it, but I admit the pull is real. Curious if anyone else shifts their bankroll around when the odds gap gets big.

books offer softer baseball lines because sharp volume is lighter and outcomes swing wild off one pitch, so casual bettors avoid it. basketball’s tighter lines reflect how predictable pace and matchups can be. i shuffle more action to baseball but keep limits tight, like picking looser poker tables but buying in short. chasing just the “best” odds is a leak unless you’re also beating the variance. curious which site you’ve found with friendlier baseball lines - betwhale’s been generous lately.
