does betting team totals get limited faster than full game spreads

Been sticking to team totals for a couple of seasons because the pricing is a little softer for the lesser-known leagues, but I’ve heard a few people warn it can get you limited faster compared to just betting the full game lines. I don’t touch crazy stuff - mostly regular sides and totals, all straight bets, but sometimes it feels like the book eyes these markets more if you show you know where the edges are. I’m not a pro or anything, but I try to be steady and not set off alarms with weird bet sizes or anything like that.

Anyone actually seen firsthand where books start throttling your team total bets but leave you alone on spreads and moneylines? Trying to decide if it’s smarter to mix things up more, or if that’s just gambling forum paranoia. Would like to stay under the radar but also don’t want to keep bouncing around markets just for the sake of it. What’s been your experience?

Yeah, I’ve seen it, not even as some dramatic account limit thing, just the annoying slow-walk version. Team totals would suddenly sit on bet confirmation for 4-5 seconds, then either come back worse or get the cute “odds changed” slap, meanwhile spread goes right through. That’s the tell to me. Had it happen on midweek CBB, three times in one night, drove me nuts. Same greasy feeling as Live Dealer when the shoe “pauses” at the perfect time, you know what they’re doing!!!

That delay isnt always the gotcha lol, sometimes totals just get a manual look way faster than spreads, esp midweek CBB, I got that a ton

midweek cbb promo clicks got me looked at way faster than the market itself tbh, same dumb profit boost on a team total and suddenly im on the naughty list lol meanwhile my buddy fires props like a maniac and skates```

That pause is the tell. Same crap hit me on team totals, spreads stayed open 😏

Yeah, softer online casino markets get clipped first.

I think the forum paranoia part gets overfed, honestly. I was sure team totals were what got me clipped, then i looked back at it and it was just me beating bad juice in soft leagues over and overrrr. Market didn’t matter as much as me being obvious.

nah the nuance ppl miss is account limit vs market max arent the same thing lol i had a book leave my spreads basically normal but team totals in 2nd tier hoops got shaved to dust way earlier bc the hold profile was touchier there. annoying tbh id kill for that kind of leash on sides rn

Yeah, team totals get clipped first in my experience. Softer niche markets get treated more like slots promos than spreads

I can see why you’d get that impression, especially with smaller or less liquid markets where the rules and limits can be noticeably different from the main lines. I’d still check the specific market rules and limits before assuming there’s a consistent pattern, since different books can handle those niche bets pretty differently.

Market rules page won’t tell you much, they’ll clip team totals first if that’s where your value is. Spreads stayed up for me, slots logic not sports
