Tried betting on esports for the first time

Tried esports betting for the first time last night, mostly because I kept seeing people say the lines were softer than regular sports. I thought I could read it the same way, just with different teams, but it didn’t seem that simple.

Once the match started, I was looking at a map prop and then checked another market. By the time I went back to the first one, the line had moved and I wasn’t sure if I should still take it. I also didn’t know how much to trust pre-match form compared with what was happening live (maybe that part just takes time).

The stats for the maps looked useful, but I couldn’t tell which ones mattered for the prop I was looking at. Commentary wasn’t helping me decide either, and I was pretty much a step behind the whole time. It was more chaotic than I expected!

Has anyone had this happen when starting out, and do you focus on a particular stat before taking a live map prop? I’m seeing a lot of info, but not sure what’s actually useful.

Who told you the lines were softer? That's the bit I'd be questioning.
