why some blackjack dealers seem to always hit stiff hands
so i’ve been noticing lately when i’m at the live tables that some blackjack dealers seem to pull a face card or a ten every single time when they’re sitting on a 16 or 15. like it feels weird, because statistically they should bust more often than they do, right? especially at the automatic shuffler tables, i always see them hit a stiff hand and end up at 21 or just barely beating the table.
i get the whole randomness thing, and yeah, i’m careful not to get too paranoid, but it does make me wonder how much is just dealer variance versus possible quirks with the shuffler or card shoe. i’ve started tracking hands with sticky notes but it’s tough to tell. anybody else feel like some dealers just have luck on their side, or am i just feeling the burn from a bad streak? risk management is my main thing, so this stuff gets in my head.
