Splitting aces rules?

Trying to get a handle on when you can and can’t split aces, especially at different casinos. I was at a live dealer table last week and they only let me take one card on each split ace, which felt like a pretty rough restriction. Some places I’ve played let you resplit aces if you get another one, and others don’t - just once and that’s it. I know the house edge changes based on these little rule tweaks, but it seems like there’s not much consistency unless you’re in Vegas or sticking to one place online.

I kind of prefer when you can at least hit after splitting aces, but maybe that’s just me wanting more control over my own hand. Have you noticed these rules getting tighter lately, or is it just random luck on my part? If you play mostly live dealer or online, what do you usually run into? Not sure whether to just accept the short leash on split aces or keep hunting for better tables. Calm structure’s always best but these little rules do start to add up.

Blackjack live dealer has gotten so fussy I stop caring the minute I see “one card only” on split aces. If the game statistics page won’t even show resplit-aces clearly, why bother sitting there at all, was this a branded table or some generic studio setup?
