card scan delay

Seeing more delays lately when the dealer scans cards at my usual spot. It’s just long enough to make folks look around and second guess, nothing crazy but feels off. Couple players were side-eyeing the shuffle machines too but dealer said it’s just “software lag.” I don’t see this at other tables in the room and definitely not at the old school spots.

Not saying it’s a scam, but it breaks up the flow and makes it weird when you’re trying to play fast hands. Wonder if this has something to do with those new card shoes they rolled out or if it’s just a staffing thing.
