Free chip terms confusing

Every time I try to claim one of those free chip offers, I feel like I’m missing something in the rules. Like, some places say there’s a “max cashout” but then you look at the playthrough and it gets really murky if table games count, or if you’re locked into slots only. It gets even weirder when it says you need to “verify” before cashout, but doesn’t really spell out how strict that is. Feels easy to screw it up and lose whatever little you win.

Is there a real difference between how strict these terms are from one casino to another, or is it just different wording for the same restrictions? Would be interested to hear how others here read between the lines before jumping in.
