why are some bonuses restricted to certain games only

noticed lately that a lot of bonuses only work on like three or four games, usually the ones i’d never play in a million years. every now and then i’ll see something for poker or sports, but it feels like the slots get all the promo love. i get it, house edge and all that, but you’d think they’d want people putting action everywhere, right? i mean if everyone jumps on the same promo game, doesn’t it actually defeat the point for the house since they can just game the system with a good strategy or syndicate play?

do you guys think it’s mostly about limiting risk or are they just trying to pump up numbers for the providers behind those games? ever had any luck convincing support to let a bonus apply to something else?
