why some online casinos force you to complete wager requirements immediately

Noticed lately that some casinos don’t let you just accept a bonus and then hold it for days or weeks. They’ll make you finish all the wagering requirements within a tight window, like 24 or 48 hours, and if you don’t, any winnings or remaining bonus just disappears. I kind of get it from their perspective, but it always feels like a rush job and pushes you to play suboptimally.

Is there a reason they do this besides the obvious “stop us from abusing the bonus”? Has anyone seen any patterns with these short timers, like certain games or bet types they try to steer us toward?
