why are poker tournaments always full of the same boring aggressive players
every time i play a live tournament now it’s just the same faces and all they do is three-bet or shove every chance they get. not even fun hands either, just a constant stream of aggression. seems like everyone thinks the only way to play is max pressure at all times. where are the people who want to actually see some flops and play post-flop poker? feels like a slot machine when it’s just all-in pre and pray for the best, no real reads or weird spots anymore.
maybe i’m just salty from busting early last night but does anyone else miss when table dynamics used to be a thing? or did i just get old and not realize this is what everyone wants now?
Sometimes I purposely tighten up and just fold for a stretch. Like resetting in blackjack, it stops me tilting and lets me pick better spots later.
There’s no bonus for creativity at most tables now, just folks chasing that min-cash. I get why grinders go agro, but seeing some actual hands play out used to be half the reason to show up.
