Cash game rake too high?

Been trying to grind some low stakes poker lately and man, the rake is just eating into every pot. Like you hit a decent hand, rake swoops in and takes a piece before you even stack your chips. Makes me wonder how much you're actually supposed to be winning just to break even. Not looking to become the next poker legend, just trying not to get bled dry before I get lucky. I’ve mostly been a roulette and slots guy, but at least there you know the house edge, this feels sneakier.

Anyone else feel like the rake’s just too much sometimes, especially for the smaller games? I get the house has to make money, but sometimes I feel like I’d get better odds sticking with my usual slots or even throwing it all on red. I’d probably lose the same but at least it’s faster and comes with free soda. Wondering how everyone handles it or if I’m just being paranoid because I always double check receipts for sneaky charges too.
