PLO double suited spot?

so i got in a hand where i'm on the button with a double suited rundown, something like 8h 9h 6s 7s. action folds to me, i pot it, both blinds call. flop comes king high with two of my suits, so i got the wrap and flush draw but i completely miss top pair or set. big blind leads strong, small blind gets out, now it’s back to me and i’m deep stacked. i know patience is key and not getting drawn in by flashy draws, but this is one of those spots that keeps messing with my head.

i’m curious how others approach playing big combo draws in position, especially when the board smashes ranges like this. is this just a go-with-it spot or do you wait for cleaner flops to apply pressure?

Tbh the part people skip is the game itself. In fat-rake casino PLO, or some app nonsense with no real rakeback, these pretty double-suited rundowns print way less than guys think, esp deep. I learned that the dumb way in seat 6 at Parx, kept lighting off on “huge equity” hands and the rake just ate the edge before the turn even mattered. So imo this isn’t even about waiting for a cleaner flop, it’s about not romanticizing medium rundowns in bad structures, that’s the leak half the time

Yeah nah, I’m with the “don’t get hypnotized by the hand looking sexy” crowd lol. Double suited rundowns are catnip, especially on crypto casinos where the whole setup is built to make you click buttons faster than your brain catches up. I’ve punted plenty in basically this exact kind of spot and it always feels the same: huge draw, king-high board, guy leads, you tell yourself “can’t fold all this equity,” then lmao suddenly it’s a rebuy story. Multiway + strong lead is the part I care about. That’s where I quit being a hero. Pretty wraps turn into expensive wallpaper real quick. I’m not waiting for a unicorn flop, I’m just not auto-stacking off because the cards look cool.

imo the part people skip is online plo leads on king high are way more merged than live. in position with that exact double suited rundown, deep, i'm not "waiting for cleaner" much tbh, but i'm not fist-pumping either.
