why do some poker players always seem to know what you have
had this dude on my table who just kept saying my hand before i even turned it over, like "you got a set huh" or "weak ace kicker." freaked me out how often he nailed it, and i wasn't playing obvious. just goes to show sometimes those guys aren't guessing, they're picking up on tiny stuff. maybe my bet size, or timing, or maybe i'm getting readable after a long session.
doesn't even feel like luck when they call it over and over, more like some strange poker sixth sense. anybody else run into these types? feels impossible to bluff or get paid.
In slots, sometimes you chase patterns that just aren't there. Could those psychic poker calls be like chasing a hot streak that only exists because of short-term swings?
definitely know what you mean, but sometimes it's less sixth sense and more stamina. live dealer regulars play so long they start tracking the way people react after big pots or long dry spells. i once caught myself unconsciously sighing when missing a flush, only noticed on review.
if you want to test them, switch up your bet sizing for a session. not just tempo, but straight up flip your usual habits and see if it throws them off.
I feel you, those types make me question my own tells and rhythm almost like chasing a roulette wheel bias that only they see. Ever try switching up your whole tempo mid-session just to test if it’s you or their mythic read?
Pattern recognition at the felt is no joke, especially online where timing tells matter even more than live. Sometimes it’s skill, but there’s always a nonzero chance it’s just variance running hot.
