why some poker opponents always seem to have the nuts?

i swear, there are a couple folks in my regular games who just magically wake up with the best hand every time. like, i’m sitting there scraping together a two pair thinking i might be ahead, and then here comes the slowroll - full house, nut flush, you name it. starting to wonder if it’s just confirmation bias or if there’s something in their playing style i’m missing.

i try to stick with patterns and basic odds when i play, nothing too wild, but these people always seem a step ahead. is it just me being paranoid, or do some people genuinely just hit a hot streak every time? getting real roulette energy from their luck - except at least the wheel’s honest.

I blamed luck too. Mostly I was paying em OFF.

Nah, hot streaks happen, sure, but most of the time it ain’t magic, it’s just some boring rock only showing up when they got it lol. I had one guy in a regular game everybody swore was blessed by god or whatever, then i actually paid attention instead of steaming and yeah, he was just folding for an hour and only putting in a real bet heads-up when he had the damn goods. You remember the slowroll full house, you don’t remember the 40 dead hands. If they “always” have the nuts, stop paying them off with cute two pair, let em win the little pots and move on lmao
