can you actually improve roulette results through positioning
so i've been reading people go on and on about “wheel bias” and picking a spot at the table to get some sort of edge on roulette. like, sitting closer to where the ball drops, or getting your bets in last second so you can “see the spin.” i know in poker, live positioning is a thing but for roulette, i’m just not seeing how it’d play out. maybe in some crazy old wheels with physical flaws, but at a modern spot or online, can sitting somewhere specific actually mean anything? or is it just a superstition like rubbing the felt for luck?
i always look at the table trying to find any sort of rhythm, especially when i’m on break from dealing poker, but roulette just seems so pure randomness. someone at my local joint claims there’s a sweet spot to watch the wheel and predict numbers, swears he’s up because of it. he won't really break down his system though. anyone ever actually seen positioning make a real difference, or just another table myth?
