anyone ever switch away from a slot mid-session and regret it

Had one of those nights where I started on a slot, stuck with it for maybe 30 minutes, then decided to chase a new theme across the floor. Not 10 minutes later, I hear someone at my old machine hit a nice bonus. Never fails - makes you second guess every move. Part of me knows it’s just the gambler’s fallacy talking but still, the sting is real.

Anyone else get that "shoulda stayed put" regret, even though you know every spin is random? Do you stick to your first pick or hop around looking for that fresh luck? Wondering if folks have actually had better results planting themselves vs. moving after a dry spell. How do you handle that itch to swap games - do you trust your gut, or ignore it?

swapped off fire joker last month, bonus hit right after. hurts, but sticking never guarantees payback. i just switch once the session feels stale, since chasing that "owed" spin is pure sunk cost. roulette taught me it’s all randomness anyway.

One thing I do is set a max number of spins or time per slot up front, kind of like a self-imposed line change. It’s way less about superstition and more about avoiding tilt and letting promos or bonuses guide when to switch. Got burned less since.

feels a lot like missing the right bonus code on a promo, then watching the pot get scooped by someone who came in blind. i’ll admit, book of atem keeps me parked longer just for the rare feature triggers, but i never trust sticking is the magic touch. all i bank on is how the session feels and if the game’s bonus rate even makes sense - lucky lady’s charm for example only averages a bonus every 170 spins. so i ignore the “just missed it” guilt. if a slot’s not vibing, there’s always another reel.

sometimes the regret hits hardest when you catch the sound of someone else’s bonus, like an audible slap. what helps me is zoning in on why i picked a slot to start - was it the features like scatter symbols or just the theme mood? if i ever feel the urge to swap, i’ll check the min bet and volatility first. some slots like fruit supreme are just streakier, so i treat moving as a fresh read, not a mistake. have you found certain themes pull you back in, or is it always about the timing?
