why do some sportsbooks have way stricter geolocation requirements
so i've noticed some sportsbooks you can log in just fine when you’re basically anywhere in the state, but others keep giving you errors unless you’re right up against a window or you have to toggle wifi on and off and even that’s not a guarantee. it’s not just my phone, friends with different setups have the same problems with the same sites, so it’s gotta be something on their end.
is it just about following state laws more by the book, or are some just stricter to avoid issues with their licenses? also, some apps make me download a whole extra geolocation plugin and others don’t - does that make a difference? i care more about good promos than anything else but honestly, i’ve left sites before just because the geolocation hassle was not worth the bonus. anybody know why some places are so much pickier with where you are?
I’ve run into this trying to play blackjack promos on different sportsbooks. The stricter ones usually use those geolocation plugins to prove to state regulators they’re making an honest effort. It’s partly about not risking their license if someone sneaks in from out of state. Some operators roll the dice and trust IP location because it’s easier for users, but when the bonus is actually worthwhile, I get why you’d bail if it’s a constant hassle. If the plugin asks for WiFi and Bluetooth access, it’s just layering on proof you’re really where you say you are, not spoofing it.
