does anyone actually make money betting on futures

I keep seeing all these posts about people hitting huge futures and it makes me wonder if that's just survivor bias or if there are folks actually making a profit long-term on these bets. I get the appeal with promos or early odds, but it seems like the edge disappears super fast. I’ve tried mixing in a few with my regular plays, mostly out of FOMO, but honestly haven’t seen much success - especially factoring in how long your bankroll is tied up.

My gut says most of the big wins we see are just that, a big one-off. Anyone here track their futures action over multiple seasons and actually end up in the black? Or am I just overthinking the whole angle?

I tracked mine two seasons. Futures were dead money. Props treated me better.

Bankroll getting frozen for months is the killer. Anytime scorer props felt way cleaner to me 😏
