Early cash out or just let it ride?

I’ve got a live ticket right now where the cash out keeps popping up way earlier than it should, and it’s annoying because the number is nowhere near what the position is worth if you just leave it alone. It was a 3 leg parlay, 2 legs already in, and now they’re offering a cash out that looks shaved for no reason other than they know people panic when they see green.

I don’t get why so many people treat early cash out like free money. Most of the time it’s just the book taking another bite. Is there any spot where taking it early is not just handing over value? I’m not talking about needing rent money or any of that, I mean from the bet itself.

What are people using to decide this besides gut feel? If the last leg is still roughly lined where you expected, why cash it for less (and sometimes a lot less)? The way it’s pushed makes it look like a feature when it’s really just another margin grab.

What'd they offer against what you staked, roughly?

Only time it's not value gone is when you know something the line hasn't caught yet, like a scratch. Otherwise cash out is just paying them to take the risk off your hands.

no if the last leg moved against you the cashout is often the best number going

I treat cash out like selling the ticket. If the last leg is still near the price i expected, i leave it alone.

Otherwise i take the shave.
