best poker player type to target if you want to exploit weaknesses

karly1891 commented:

When I think about long-term edges, I gravitate toward players who can’t handle variance emotionally, not just the tight rule-followers. The ones who spiral after a bad beat start leaking chips in odd spots. Watching a sports bettor tilt after their team loses is the same - losses linger, and the mistakes multiply. Spot the mindset cracking, and you find the softest targets, regardless of their playbook.

best poker player type to target if you want to exploit weaknesses

Been watching more poker tables than I actually play lately and I keep noticing certain players just bleed value all night, but it isn’t always the obvious loose guys. I get the obvious limpers and maniacs are targets, but sometimes the real gold comes from the folks who play “by the book” a little too strictly. They stick to some ABC style, never bluff, never adapt, and you can almost set your watch by their ranges and bet sizes. Other times, the scared money is just sitting there - players who are sweating every pot, check-calling their stacks down like it’s their rent money. Figuring out which one to zero in on for real consistent profits is starting to feel more like my roulette grind - finding those little hesitations and tells, the predictable cadence, the same old spin. Curious what folks think is the best type to focus on.

best sportsbook for consensus picks if you want to fade public money?

Consensus picks have always felt a bit like roulette to me - spin the wheel, watch the herd pile in, then try to sneak out the back door with your chips before the hot streak cools off. I've been wanting to get a sense of where everyone goes to check public money and consensus percentages that actually match up with real betting lines, not just random internet smoke. Especially if you're looking to fade the crowd and zig when everyone else is zagging, it seems like some books have a bigger gap between consensus and the actual odds movement. I'm not just chasing the classic "bet against the public" move for its own sake - I actually track results and keep the slips, and I've noticed some books shade their lines weirdly compared to others when the public loads up. I want to hear from anyone who actually grinds and has receipts, not just someone tossing out the usual advice. Is there a place that actually lines up the consensus numbers with what you see in real time, or is everyone just guessing and reverse-engineering based on closing line movement? Curious how others handle this chaos.

anyone notice online casinos pay out differently depending on your location

Maybe it's just in my head, but it feels like my spins run cold whenever I'm not playing from home. Spent some time visiting family out of state and hit up my usual online haunts. Couldn't buy a win, and that's on games where I normally at least hold my own. Came back to my place and suddenly it's back to business as usual - same bets, same stakes, but better runs. I know randomness can be brutal, but the timing felt uncanny. Also, I've seen a couple posts here and there about certain promos or bonuses being region-specific, like they know where you are and decide your luck for you. Maybe it's just variance being a cruel mistress, or maybe there's more behind the curtain. Has anybody else tracked their results and noticed patterns that match with where they're logging in from?

best sportsbook for comparing alternate lines side by side?

Always get frustrated toggling through individual game pages just to see what alt spreads and totals are doing. For NFL props, especially rushing yards and stuff, I want to see the ladders and all the lines side by side. Feels like half my brain cells go to waste jumping tab to tab and nothing lines up. Same with NBA alt points - either it’s a scroll party or you miss something. I’m big on finding the soft numbers in the chaos and running my own tracking sheets but it’d be way easier if you could just filter by player or game and see it all laid out. Been burned by clicking into the wrong player and fat-fingering the bet because the layout is just awful. Any book or trick for getting the full variance menu all at once? There’s gotta be a better way than this.
