Dealer hits soft 17?
So I was messing around at a local casino and realized I always forget if the dealer is supposed to hit on soft 17 or not. I know it really changes the house edge but honestly it always throws me off when some tables do and some don’t. I noticed that the sign at the table can sometimes be a little confusing too, just says “dealer hits soft 17” but sometimes the wording isn’t clear.
I’m used to mostly playing slots and roulette where I don’t have to think about this stuff. With blackjack it seems like every tiny rule matters way more. Does anyone track whether certain casinos have more tables where the dealer hits soft 17 or is it pretty random? I don’t always remember to ask before sitting down and it’s messed with my play more than once. Curious what people here do to keep track or if they avoid these tables altogether. For me it makes the game feel just a bit tighter but I can see some folks not caring as much.
