late surrender missing?
So I was playing some blackjack at a spot that seemed decent, but I noticed there was no late surrender option. I always keep my eyes out for that because it actually makes a big difference in how the house edge plays out, especially on those tough hands against dealer tens or aces. No signage or table talk about it either. Dealer said something vague about "not on this floor," but didn't elaborate. Doesn't help me feel very confident about what the rules really are.
Am I missing something here or is this just the norm now? Used to be you'd at least see late surrender at the higher limit tables, but lately I'm not seeing it anywhere. Feels like a quiet trend of tightening the rules to squeeze a bit more out of players. Makes me even more interested in hunting for old school spots or smaller rooms that actually keep those player-friendly rules on the table.
