Blackjack surrender rules: does anyone actually use this feature
When I’m grinding at the tables, surrender never really crosses my mind. It’s one of those rules I know exists, but I rarely see anyone use it or even mention it. Supposedly it can shave the house edge just a bit in the right situations, but feels weird to just fold up and walk away from a hand unless it's a total dumpster fire. Most folks I see play every hand to the end, for better or worse. Curious if I’m missing out on long-term EV by skipping it. Wonder if any of you actually hit that button or just ignore it.
i focus on bankroll management over micro-edges, so surrender just never feels worth the momentum hit. ever tried re-splitting in super fun 21 instead for more action?
i hear you on surrender feeling awkward, but i’ve actually used it a handful of times - mostly on the worst hands like 16 vs dealer 10. ran stats once for fun and yeah, it barely moves the needle, but every fraction counts if you’re in this for the long haul. still, most tables i see, nobody touches that option. kind of like always playing the small blind in poker even when the odds are ugly. ever run into a bonus round where surrender would’ve flipped your luck?
You reached the end
