Surrender vs 10?

So, I keep running into this spot where I’ve got 15 or 16 and the dealer’s showing a 10. I know the charts say surrender is the “right” move, but I can’t help hesitating every time. Honestly, feels weird to just fold up and lose half right away instead of taking a shot, even though I get the math behind it. I’ve actually started to appreciate how much discipline it takes not to just YOLO hit every bad hand, but my gut is always a little annoyed surrender exists at all.

Curious how other folks handle this, especially when you’re down a little and the urge to fight back is strong. Do you always surrender there or sometimes just let it ride?
