Soft 13 double?

so i was sitting at the table, minding my own business, and got dealt a soft 13. that’s an ace with a 2 for the folks keeping score. dealer was showing a 5. most of the table was telling me to double and i get it, dealer is weak, i’m supposed to be aggressive. but i’ve always felt a bit weird doubling on soft totals. there’s just too many weird outcomes for my taste, and i feel like i’m giving away money for a one-card draw that barely improves things half the time. plus, i’m the kind of guy who doesn’t believe in putting an extra chip down unless i really see the upside.

am i just being too careful here, or does anyone else feel soft hands can be a trap? is soft 13 actually worth the double, or is this another casino trick to feed on the bold?

tbh the weird part is thinking the one card makes it bad. vs a dealer 5 thats exactly why the double prints over time, soft 13 isnt a trap unless ur basically checking the pot out of nerves
