Back to Blackjack

anyone played blackjack professionally or is that literally impossible now

Used to hear stories of guys making real money playing blackjack full-time back in the day. Counting cards, team play, all that stuff. But with the way casinos shuffle now, automatic shufflers and all these rules, is anyone actually able to grind out a living at the tables these days? Even if you’re disciplined and bankroll smart, seems like you just get backed off or outright banned fast. Or am I missing some other angle? Would love to hear if anyone here’s actually pulled it off recently or knows someone who has.

the psychological load is what stands out for me now. you can be all about the numbers, run a textbook session in european blackjack, and still find that constant vigilance grinds you down way before the house edge does. even in live dealer rooms, it’s the mental fatigue that quietly kills momentum.

if you’ve ever tried session logging, those cold streaks hit way harder with real money on the line. discipline matters, but emotional swings are where grinders get cracked these days.

Still possible, but now it’s all small edges, rapid pivots, and patience like in poker - no more easy tables. Live dealer blackjack’s the only grind left if you’re banking on discipline over streaks.

i've seen folks quietly chip up on infinite blackjack in live dealer lobbies, but their real edge came from meticulous session logs and cutting losses instantly after any weird live results or stream interruptions. has anyone here factored site-level reliability into their grind?

Even roulette’s safer for consistent grinders now since tables boot counters so fast. Anyone here actually tracked a legit profit in double exposure blackjack lately?

grinding a living from blackjack feels like a pipe dream now unless you luck into private blackjack or use hd stream live dealer games for lower stakes, but even online, limits and volatility crush most edges. poker’s softer and less policed if you want to sweat out the grind.
