Side bet limits tiny

Noticed lately the side bet limits on blackjack and even roulette are like a tenth of the main bet minimum. Kind of takes the fun out of experimenting with different side bets if you can barely put anything down. Always liked using Perfect Pairs or those funky bets for a little side action, but now it feels pointless. Anybody else seeing this? Is this standard everywhere now or just certain places getting more conservative? Wondering if it's a trend or just bad luck on my end lately. Thoughts?
