Side bet max tiny?

Noticed this too, feels like most tables cap the side bets at way lower limits than the main bets. I get it with things like perfect pairs or 21+3, since they gotta protect themselves from the rare big hits, but sometimes the max is so tiny it’s barely worth the hassle. Especially online where you can easily size up your main hand but the side action is locked at like five bucks or less.

I usually just play the base game and skip the sides unless I’m bored, but was wondering if anyone’s found tables that actually offer reasonable maxes? Are there any sites or live dealers that don’t keep the side bets so restricted, or is this just standard now everywhere?

yeah it’s standard now lol, and honestly the tiny max is the whole point. they want the side bet on the layout so your lizard brain goes “ooh bonus” but they do not want you actually leaning on it when the paytable can spike. i had a live dealer session where main hand let me press way up, side was stuck basically lunch money, felt stupid as hell. same vibe as poker rooms spreading a fun promo then capping it so hard it’s decorative 😭 if you find a table with a “good” side max it’s usually attached to some other annoying catch, slower dealing, worse rules, support asleep, all that annoying crap
